Equipment

To equip a unit with equipment tap the Equip button on the unit's details screen. See the Abilities section for details about equipping abilities.
Equipping a unit will give it stat boosts and make new commands available for the unit.

Among that which can be confirmed on the equip screen include unit no., name, rarity, unit image, job, current level, max level, experience gauge, EXP to next level, HP, MP, ATK, DEF, MAG, SPR, usable magic level, and equippable weapons and armor.
When a stat is raised or lowered by equipment, the difference will appear beside it as a blinking green number.
Equippable weapons and armor will appear as icons.

Tap an equipment slot at the bottom of the screen to switch the currently equipped one to something else.
If you select a piece of equipment that is cannot be equipped simultaneously, the current piece equipped will be unequipped.
For example, when a dagger and shield are equipped and a two-handed weapon is selected, the shield would be unequipped.

To equip a unit automatically with equipment that will raise its ATK, DEF, and other stats the highest, tap the Optimize button.
However, accessories cannot automatically be unequipped.

To toggle the kind of details that appear for currently equipped equipment, tap the Toggle View button.

There are certain equipment and abilities that increase parameters.
Boost effects are based on the parameters of a unit without the effects of equipment, espers, or innate skills counted.
